Our movement is always against Poverty,
Our greatest movement is to achieve financial well-being,
To Feed 3 times in day to our Family members a movement for us,
When somebody try to deprive our food from mouth,
This is really a movement for our life!!!
Pulling Rickshaw is my profession,
I make charge for my every paddle,
I'm not begging for money.
I pulled Rickshaw in the time of Heavy sunshine,
I pulled Rickshaw in the time of Heavy Rain,
I pulled Rickshaw in the time of Heave Cold,
That i can provide some food for my family.
I'm neglected by the Rich people,
I'm neglected by the Society,
I'm neglected by my life,
For which i survive!!!
I never want much more,
I just want to survive,
So i'm here, Because this is the movement for my life!!!!....
If any Rickshaw Puller able to write any poem, i'm very sure that he will write the same line i wrote. Because rickshaw puller of Dhaka City Passing a very crucial moment. They are going through in a great tragedy. Because they have to get into the movement for their life.
On 3 July 2019 a decision was taken by Dhaka South City Corporation to ban Rickshaw for the purpose reducing huge traffic in three Major Road in Dhaka City. The roads are, Gabtoli to Azimpur via Asad Gate; Kuril to Sayedabad via Rampura and Khilgaon; and Science Laboratory intersection to Shahbagh intersection. More than 58000 Rickshaw Run in those area.
Dhaka City is very populated City, this City has a lot of problem. Because this most unplanned city in the world. On the hand our government are unable to provide sufficient job facilities to our country people. Most of the people in our village are illiterate, they didn't have proper education to get some qualified job. Now a days the working opportunity in village become very less. As a result people with huge number comes to Dhaka city and started their life as Rickshaw puller. Because this is the only job they can get very easily, just minimum requirement have to know how to pulled Rickshaw.
This announcement just made them shocked..!!!.. It's common because this decision against their livelihood, against their life, If the authority Ban Rickshaw pulling in short time what will they do, where will they go, how will they feed their family members. This is really a threat for them. So they gather against the decision, and demanding withdrawal of rickshaw ban by the authorities.
I also become very surprised by the decision of South City Corporation of Dhaka City, It's never acceptable, Traffic Jam, Huge traffic is very common For this City. Various kind of structural Step are taking by our Government to Solve this problem as soon as possible. Manual or Auto Rickshaw could be very responsible for huge traffic. But no authority has any permission to ban any source of livelihood without making alternative source of livelihood in any independent Country.
Authority should take a proper step to ban manual and Auto Rickshaw from huge traffic area in Dhaka City. They Should make a proper and Clean list of rickshaw puller and they should provide them alternative source of livelihood, that they can survive, after then they can ban Rickshaw step by step from Dhaka City.
