Is it Election or Selection???
It's become a viral question all over in our country (Bangladesh). But why??
In this post i will try to give the answer of this question is short.
The Greatest President of U.S Abraham Lincoln define democracy like that "Government of the people, by the people, for the people" and Election is process to select Government by the people of any democratic country. Basically Election use to select the political party to managing the country, to developing the country, to maintain a good environment for the country people for living in a word to serve the country. In the law of Election there should have many political party to established democracy, to established a proper Government. If there have no any participation of various political party in Election we can't define it as a election we can say it selection and it against democracy.
If we look at our previous elections, then it will be clear. In previous election 2014, there was no participation of most powerful Opposition party called BNP (Bangladesh National Party), Bangladesh Awami league and JASOD (Jatio Party) was jointly participated in Election, in 2014 JASOD become opposition party. Among 300 seats of parliament 153 seats are being uncontested, the 18-party opposition alliance led by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party boycott their participation in Election for unfair condition of Election, have look below chart it will be very clear.

Without participation of a big political Party alliance "Jatiyo Okiyo front" The Government has formed by Bangladesh Awami league. This political party was the previous government and they change the law of Constitution for temporary Government, they made the decision the election will be help under ruling political Party. This decision created a devastating political unrest in the country.
And Finally Election of 2014 become "Selection"
This year in 30th December 2018 another Selection going to held. Because there have a quite participation of opposition political party fear of Unfair Election.
We are eagerly waiting for election results although it's not a Election.
